In person storytelling workshop held in Reykjavík, Iceland.
Objective
Writing is not about producing texts but about sustaining a relationship: with time, with solitude, with language, with doubt, with rewriting, and with a way of looking at the world.
This workshop does not promise:
publication,
quickly “finding your voice,”
writing well.
This workshop does propose:
staying,
writing despite not knowing,
learning to read oneself,
working on a piece (or several) in process.
A space for those who want to write and dive deep into their creativity and ideas.
This is a ongoing, in-person writing workshop.
A space for those who want to write and dive deep into their creativity and ideas.
We will work over the course of a year, group weekly meetings, sharing the texts we work on, reading texts by writers who have thought about writing from experience, doubt, and sustained labor. We will also work with different assignments and deeply analyze the art of storytelling.
This is not a workshop for immediate correction or fast results. It is a space to stay,
to write, to rewrite, to read, and to think about one’s own process.
The proposal is to accompany the development of a writing practice and, if it happens,
a body of work in progress.
Commitment to attendance, weekly writing, and group reading is required.
